Summary

Consulting can be offered at the following levels:

  • Strategic level

  • Tactical level (mid management, tactical planning,

  • Operational level (administration, production, warehousing, sales, customer service, accounting, HR, ..)

It is totally useless to implement eg. a new ERP when products or services are not selling well at all, when the operating costs are sky high, when employee turnover is way too high, when most of the stock is outdated, when debt is about 40% of revenue, etc.

A new ERP is not going to fix this.

In such cases, a thorough analysis of the business needs to be done to find the root cause. Products may have to be phased out. Warehouses may have to be closed. Outsourcing of logistics may have to be brought inhouse. Sales offices may have to be relocated. Some people may have to be replaced. Organizational structure may need to be changed. SOPs may have to be implemented. Best practices have to be instituted.

Once the foundation is sound, then eg. a new ERP can be implemented.
